Oluwatoyin A. Adeniji

Oluwatoyin A. Adeniji (Olu) is a physiotherapist and health services researcher with over 15 years of professional experience spanning hospital and aged care settings across Africa, the United Kingdom, and Australia.

Olu recently completed a dual PhD with the University of Surrey (United Kingdom) and the University of Wollongong (Australia), funded through the University Global Partnership Network (UGPN) collaboration.

Her doctoral research examined the rapid adaptation of first contact physiotherapy services for musculoskeletal conditions within primary care and emergency department settings in the UK and Australia during the COVID-19 pandemic.

This work advanced understanding of the pace of implementation and the readiness, responsiveness, and continuity of care within health services, particularly first contact physiotherapy services during crisis. The guidance provided on this website to support health service readiness for prompt response and continuity of care represents key outputs from Olu’s PhD research, with the associated publications available here 🔗 and here.

Olu’s research interests span implementation science, health service delivery in physiotherapy, musculoskeletal and ageing research, and digital health innovation. Her work is driven by a commitment to bridging the gap between evidence and practice through the development of practical frameworks and tools that improve patient outcomes, enhance continuity of care, promote equitable access to services, and support sustainable improvements in healthcare delivery.
